Proportional Digital Trailer Brake Controller for 1-4 Axle Trailers with Boost Button

There are two main types of brake controllers: time-delay trailer brake controllers and proportional electric brake controllers. Time-delay trailer brake controllers apply the trailer brakes with a preset amount of braking power, and there is a delay as the unit ramps up the power to full braking. On most models, the time and the initial braking power are adjustable.

On the other hand, proportional electric brake controllers enable more accurate and controlled braking, reducing wear on both the towing vehicle and trailer brakes. These controllers apply the trailer brakes in proportion to the vehicle's slowing down, and they are also adjustable by the driver.

The LED digital display screens on these brake controllers show the voltage delivery going from the brake controller to the trailer's brakes. This feature makes it easy to read and observe vehicle conditions in real-time, allowing the driver to make adjustments in case of emergencies.

These brake controllers are designed to fit 1 to 4 axle trailers, and both the quantity of braking power (result) and the rate of the braking program (sync) can be adjusted to suit the driver's preference, the road conditions, and the type of trailer, thereby increasing the safety of driving. No leveling is required.

The wiring ports are available for vehicle-specific brake controller harnesses, providing a quick connection between the controller and the towing vehicle for easy installation or removal. The 4 wiring and controls are: BLACK-Vehicle Power, RED-Stop Light, WHITE-Vehicle Ground, and BLUE-Trailer Brakes.

If there is an error code before use, the user can try loosening the 5 screws on the back of the product until the code disappears. Some products may have been installed due to screws being tightened too tightly and compressed.

The type of tractor and the planned frequency of use can help the user select the appropriate brake controller. Time-delay controllers are suitable for occasional users and light-duty towing, while proportional controllers are better for heavy trailer users and frequent towing, as they operate better under various conditions and produce less wear on the tow and trailer brakes.
